Last week I posted a recording of myself playing a piece of TV music. This Beautiful Partner is one of the early pieces that I learned when starting to learn piano. I felt some accomplishments.
With that YouTube post, I realized a pattern of mastery in piano playing. Well, sort of. Those that I spent most time practicing and at earlier time gets better and I feel more confident playing them. And thus I feel more inclined to record them instead of newer ones although I see some newer pieces that I practiced are somehow easier. They don’t feel as confident in my fingers.
So, this pattern of mastery proves that practice makes perfect. It took me only 6 takes to wrap up the recording. Compared to first one Always with Me 37 takes. And I like my second post better. Much better – suits aside of course.
Now, I’m planning to continue practices with a routine that I think work best for me. Actually 2 kinds of daily routine.
- One repertoire and one learning
- All repertoire and one learning
I am not sure which one is better but for now I believe I will rotate both on alternate days. Good luck to me.
